Modernity and respect for
TRADITION
In the 1920s, Bianca and Virginio Longoni opened two delicatessens in Milan. These soon became important landmarks in the city, as well as purveyors of every kind of delicacy to the Italian royal court. During the second world war, both shops were bombed, and Bianca, now a widow, moved to her country home in Molteno. Here she founded a company specialising in food preserves, supplying the army with tinned meat until the end of the war. After the war, Bianca Longoni placed her experience and her delicious recipes at the service of her new company, and with her children’s help dedicated herself entirely to the production of food preserves.

In 1964, the company was taken over by Bianca’s grandson, Mario Longoni, after whom it was renamed. That was the start of Mariolino, specialising in the production and sale of vegetable preserves, hand prepared based on Bianca’s ancient recipes.

Riva Alimentari Uniti S.r.l. was established in 2011, based on the long-standing experience of the Riva family in the food sector. In addition to producing fresh products, Riva Alimentari Uniti drew on the Mariolino brand’s heritage by reaffirming its hallmark characteristics of care and passion. In 2021, a new factory was opened in Nibionno, with a line for each product category, featuring cutting-edge technologies and innovative production and logistics solutions.
